Big Jay McNeely

Los Angeles sax “honkers” were big in the late 1940s and early ’50s, but no one was bigger than Big Jay McNeely. He established himself in 1949 with the R&B; chart topper, “Deacon’s Hop” and kept the crazed, almost be-bop sax blowing going on strong throughout the 1950s. Hear Big Jay tell his own story to Matt The Cat in an exclusive interview, only on “Harlem”.

These women mean business and they’re gonna show Matt The Cat a thing or two about livin’, lovin’ and drinkin’. Watch out.

It’s all about gettin’ to where you’re going (Destination Love) and beyond. I just hope we don’t get stuck (Flat Tire). So enjoy your Thanksgiving Weekend on the road with HARLEM on the 50s on 5.
