Harlem is GOING…GOING….GONE!!!

Rhythm & Blues Baseball Songs

In 1947, Jackie Robinson and Larry Doby injected hope into the hearts of millions of Americans as they broke down the colour-barrier in major league baseball. This joy is reflected in the rhythm and blues music that emerged. This week, Matt The Cat takes you out to the ol’ ballgame with stacks of hot wax celebrating America’s great pastime. Celebrate XM’s coverage of MLB’s Fall Classic (The World Series) with HARLEM on the 50s on 5.

Harlem airs on the 50s on 5:
Monday 4/3 @ 1pm over Fenway Park
Tuesday 4/4 @ 9pm over Dodger Stadium & Midnight over Shea Stadium
Friday 4/7 @ 6pm over Ebbets Field
Sunday 4/9 @ 11am over Turner Field in Atlanta

The Complete

ROY ORBISON

In Dreams

Part 1

Wednesday, April 5 at 4pm EST, Friday, April 7 at 2pm EST & Saturday, April 8 at 5pm EST.

Part One of the Complete Roy Orbison will focus on Roy’s beginnings as a songwriter, artist and live performer. It features some rare, live performances of Roy and his group The Teen Kings on his Odessa, TX Saturday Afternoon TV Show. These performances aired before Roy even released his first single for Sam Phillips Sun Label, the rockabilly classic “Ooby Dooby” b/w “Go, Go, Go”. Matt The Cat features all of Roy’s great Sun sides as well as his brief stay with RCA before jointing Monument, the label that would make him into an international star. The Complete Roy Orbison will run the entire month of April on the 50s on 5 in four parts.
