Nah! Those old 78rpm transfers will sound pretty much the same on a 33 1/3 vinyl LP.

On the recommendation of the owner of the oldies music store I frequent, I have ordered the CD Big Jay McNeely “Live at Birdland” 1957 it is on the collectables label. He told me I just had to have it since I was going to see Big Jay on the cruise coming up in April. (This Birdland was in Seattle, and was really a hot spot).

That is a fantastic album. He does an 8 minute version of "Flyin' Home" that I used to play on XM from time to time. And you can't beat "Mule Milk." It's Big Jay at his finest. Enjoy!

I purchased Solomon Burke’s “Don’t Give Up On Me” last week, wow, what a good listen it is. Just reading the list of collaborators is amazing. To list just a few there are Van Morrison, Tom Waits, Elvis Costello, Bob Dylan and Brian Wilson all adding their touch to this CD.

Dropped by my local vinyl store today. Got an almost perfect Coaster's "Coasting Along With The Coasters" 1962 ATCO album for $5. And a 1978 Solid Smoke reissue compalation of The Rock And Roll Trio for $8. 17 cuts some alternate takes in Monaural and great liner notes. It has pictures of The Burnette Brothers with Paul Burlison and Gene Vincent. It was a good day for hunting vinyl.

Just listened to the "Rock And Roll Trio" album for the second time. I also got out a CD that has most of the songs. The vinyl is way better. Like Matt said this is KILLER. It is really great to find these things in the Used Record Bins.

Well, if the well informed show host would have pointed out the talent of Buble, I would have been better informed, Maybe a Juke In The Back segment would be appropriate.

LOL! Not likely. The host of that program that played Buble couldn't remember what he had for breakfast that morning. He also used to play CCR on the 50s channel.

If I remember correctly he had memory lapses during the show and introducing records.
AHHH but those were the Good Ole Days. Right Tom?
