For April Fools

With April Fool’s Day this coming Wednesday, The Friday Night Cat Fight features songs about “FOOLS” this week.  Now, we’ve all been fooled from time to time.  Sometimes we “play the fool” and other times we “Pity The Fool”.  All these fools add up to just one thing; a battle of the fools over the song, “What Kind Of Fool Do You Think I Am”.  Listen to the complete program and then vote for the version of the song that you truly DIG THE MOST.  Vote below and don’t get fooled again, baby!

Great cat fight again! Both songs were good, but this time I had to go with Bill. It seems to be more of a rocker. Also loved hearing your college-day show from Boston. I enjoyed your dialog as much, if not more, than the music. It’s the personality that makes a show, after all. Anyone can play a record. All best to you and Kelly, and don’t let the april fools fool ya!

I enjoyed the Fool show, thank you, Matt. Pretty much a tossup for me on the Cat Fight this week as I liked them both very much, so I just went with the group that did it earliest. I grooved on both the R&B feel of the Tams and the higher energy of Bill Deal & the Rhondels.

Hey, Matt, sorry to hear about Larry Glick, too. I had the pleasure once of deliberately needling him until he gunned me off the air on BZ, as I loved his Godfather bit. He was one of the great late night radio talk show hosts, no doubt.

Just got chuckling remembering another favorite Glickism, that I sometimes still use myself. When somebody would ask Larry on the air for a favor he had no intention of granting, he might respond, “Let me get back to you on that sometime around next Tisha B’av”, Tisha B’av being a Jewish fasting holiday (so Wikipedia tells me) relatively obscure enough that most Jews couldn’t place on the calendar.

how about a cat fight: “sick and tired”
cris kenner/fats/boz scaggs. i know production would have a role to play in the results, but i’ve never heard all 3 in a row.

Joe Pope and the Tams are Beach Music icons. Bill Deal and Fat Ammon Tharp have cranked up the beat, but Joe and the Tams has all the makings of belly rubbing slow dancing in a dimly lit room. A lot of wonderful memories with the Tams.

Matt, I just found you again after nearly a year! I used to listen to your show every day, during the period when XM was broadcast free on AOL radio, and I loved it. So glad to be able to hear you now; I hope you will do a daily, at least one hour, show online soon.
